New Leak Reveals Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Camera Details

New Leak Reveals Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Camera Details

There are conflicting speculations about Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra camera layout, but a new leak now claims that the flagship phone will keep its 5x telephoto camera. A report published in late August had indicated that Samsung would substitute it with a 4x optical zoom camera with a 1/1.9-inch type sensor.

However, another source has debunked that report earlier this week, saying that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will retain the same 5x optical zoom camera as its predecessor.

Now, a familiar source, Roland Quandt, has weighed in on the conversation. His latest allegation is that the Galaxy S27 Ultra will include a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.

It is reported that a Sony sensor is used in the telephoto camera. If this is true, then it might mean that Samsung could not be making a big hardware modification to the phone’s telephoto camera.

The future flagship is also rumoured to include a 50MP ultrawide camera, which is the same resolution as the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The front-facing camera, though, could use a big update. The Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature a 16MP selfie camera with autofocus, Quandt said. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, in contrast, sports a 12MP front camera. The improved resolution can add more detail in selfies and video chats.

Other details about the Galaxy S27 Ultra have also started to leak. Samsung’s new M16 OLED panel will likely be used in the smartphone.

The chipset may also differ by market. Some areas are projected to receive the forthcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, while Samsung may use the Exynos 2700 chip in specific markets.

As the launch date draws nearer, more details regarding the Galaxy S27 Ultra are expected to emerge.
