Apple Pay may finally be coming to Pakistan, with a number of happenings in September 2026 pointing to a potential launch. The latest proof comes from Pakistani customers who have purportedly seen an Apple Pay option popping up inside local banking apps.
According to a post on Reddit inside the Pakistani tech community, the HBL app shows an option for Apple Pay in its payment settings. The revelation soon got the public’s attention and added to the increasing assumption that Apple is about to roll out its mobile payment service in the country.
This follows earlier evidence found inside the iOS 27 beta. Apple’s software also references Pakistan’s PayPak payment network, another hint that the corporation could be readying its payment infrastructure for the Pakistani market, reports TechJuice.
There are screenshots floating around the web that supposedly show possibilities for Apple Pay appearing within banking apps. Other large banks, including Standard Chartered, Bank Alfalah and UBL are also said to be testing Apple Pay capability.
JazzCash is also rumoured to be getting ready to support the service that may enable customers to make payments using their phones. If numerous financial institutions are preparing for Apple Pay at the same time, it could be a sign that banks and payment providers are collaborating in anticipation of a future official launch.

But Apple has not yet confirmed the formal launch of Apple Pay in Pakistan.27 iOS Beta has PayPak references
Earlier in August 2026, TechJuice revealed that specific references to Pakistan’s PayPak network were found in the iOS 27 beta.

The code apparently has `NETWORK_NAME_PAYPAK` with the value “PayPak,” and `NETWORK_NAME_PAYPAK_CARD_NAME` as “PayPak card.”
The structures apparently use the same naming conventions that Apple uses for payment network integrations. Similar code was found when Apple implemented support for India’s RuPay network in early 2026.
There are also technical hints in iOS that Apple may be getting ready to serve Pakistan, with the inclusion of PayPak references.
Payment Infrastructure Is Expanding Too
Speculation also is being fed by other developments outside of Apple.
At its annual Payments Summit, EBANX announced on September 24, 2026, that Pakistan will be part of its operational portfolio for the next semester. It is also working on integrating local payment services like JazzCash and Easypaisa and Raast, Pakistan’s national instant-payment system.

EBANX also revealed ambitions to develop native Apple Pay decryption infrastructure across Latin America and the Caribbean. Co-development of payment infrastructure could help increase the use of digital payments for foreign services.
Existing PayPak Infrastructure Nationwide
Pakistan already has a homegrown payment network that may potentially enable an Apple Pay implementation.
PayPak is managed and maintained by 1LINK under supervision of State Bank of Pakistan. It has an infrastructure of over 125,000 point-of-sale terminals and 18,500 ATMs around the country, it said.
PayPak cards also accept EMV transactions, including contactless payments on compatible cards and terminals. The existing infrastructure might allow the deployment of Apple Pay without creating an altogether new network of payment terminals.Apple has not yet confirmed the launch.
Apple has not yet launched Apple Pay for Pakistan, despite increasing evidence.
The corporation normally doesn’t announce payment-service extensions until they are ready to roll out. Still, a few things have popped up around the same time, including the alleged arrival of Apple Pay options in banking apps and the discovery of PayPak references in iOS 27 beta.
Apple Music began showing Pakistan-specific subscription plans in local currency in August 2026. This implies that Apple has already enabled the payment and subscription infrastructure for Pakistani users.
Should Apple Pay launch, the same infrastructure may be used to make contactless payments at physical stores as well as online transactions.
Apple Pay Already Discussed By Pakistani Users
There has been a lot of talk in local IT forums about the possible arrival of Apple Pay in Pakistan.
Reddit users on r/PakistaniTech have been comparing the probable Pakistani launch to reports around Apple Pay’s rollout in other South Asian nations.
The breakthrough has been welcomed by some users, while others have noted that Pakistan still has wider difficulties within its digital payment environment. There are also people angry because services such as PayPal are still not available in the nation.
The discussions underline the excitement over Apple Pay and the expectations from consumers for improvements in Pakistan’s wider digital-payment infrastructure. What Apple Pay has to offer in Pakistan?
If Apple rolls out the service with identical functionality to those available in other markets, iPhone and Apple Watch users might be able to make contactless payments at compatible point-of-sale terminals.
Other users were all praises, even going as far as claiming a beating heart for the Pay
While others complained they have yet to wait for PayPal out of every other service
Apple Pay could also offer online shopping on iPhones, iPads and Macs and supported person-to-person payment features that might let users send money within Apple’s ecosystem.
However, it is not known whether Apple would be launching the complete suite of Apple Pay services in Pakistan, or whether it would be a phased rollout.
While the reported sightings of banking apps, PayPak references in iOS 27 beta, and developments across Pakistan’s payment infrastructure provide growing indications, an official declaration from Apple is still required to confirm the debut.
