The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has advised citizens to beware of bogus tracking IDs and misinformation being spread on social media platforms.
“NADRA does not provide tracking IDs through comments on its social media accounts,” a NADRA spokeswoman said. The measure seeks to safeguard the personal and identifying information of residents.
NADRA has also requested that the public not post or reveal their tracking IDs in the comment sections of its social media platforms under any circumstances. Citizens have also been advised to verify facts through NADRA’s official communication channels and platforms.
Citizens can send SMS to 8400 or call NADRA helpdesk 051-111-786-100 or dial 1777 from their mobile phone for queries connected to tracking ID. They can also access essential services with the PakID mobile app.
The authorities further cautioned the residents not to click on unverified links or respond to suspicious messages and accounts claiming to deliver services of NADRA. It stressed that protecting personal identity and sensitive data must remain a priority.
NADRA Issues Reminder for B-Form
NADRA has also explained in the past the conditions to obtain a Child Registration Certificate generally known as B-Form.
Before applying for a child’s B-Form at a NADRA office or thru the PakID application, both parents must have active and valid Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs).
Correct registration of personal information of both parents is required in the NADRA database. This includes details like their name, parents’ name, spouse details, CNIC numbers, etc.
The organization has appealed to the residents to keep their data updated and use only official NADRA channels while applying for services or seeking assistance.
