Fuel prices in Pakistan saw another hike late Wednesday night, adding further pressure on consumers already dealing with rising costs.
According to the latest update, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs. 6.39 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs. 327.12 per litre. Similarly, high-speed diesel (HSD) has gone up by Rs. 7.83 per litre and is now being sold at Rs. 375.04 per litre.
The revised prices were confirmed through an official notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Earlier in the day, petrol pump owners had called off their nationwide strike following successful negotiations with the federal government. After the agreement, dealers assured the public that fuel supply would remain uninterrupted across the country. The Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association also supported the decision during a joint press conference.
Just a day before this increase, fuel prices had already been raised. Petrol went up by Rs. 4.93 per litre to Rs. 320.73, while diesel increased by Rs. 7.15 per litre, reaching Rs. 367.21 per litre.
The continued rise in petroleum prices is expected to impact transportation costs and overall inflation in the coming days.
