The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued additional orders to the amalgamated Ufone-Telenor organization, requiring it to provide detailed details of its legal, financial, administrative, and operational structure. The regulator also said no new brand name, logo, or promotional material could be launched without its prior approval.
In an official notification submitted to Ufone and the amalgamated business, PTA demanded all documentation connected to the new corporate structure, including approvals granted under relevant legislation and any supporting evidence.
PTA Chairman Major General (Retd) Hafeezur Rehman said that the authority had previously directed Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) and the combined firm to officially notify PTA after the legal merger process was finished.
He emphasized that obtaining prior approval from the regulator is a legal requirement before launching any new brand identity, logo, or marketing campaign.
PTA Chairman said that these measures are aimed at ensuring full compliance of the merged entity with Pakistan’s telecom laws and regulatory framework.
